Data Deletion Policy
Patients can close a Vaidyak account themselves. This page explains how to do that, what happens to patient-controlled data, and why some clinical or security records may remain.
Delete a patient account
- Sign in to Vaidyak.
- Open You → Privacy & account.
- Review the deletion and retention summary.
- Enter your password, type DELETE MY ACCOUNT, and confirm.
If you cannot sign in, use the in-app Help desk or email info@myvaidyak.com with a deletion request. We will need to verify that the account belongs to you before acting. Please do not email medical reports or passwords.
What happens after confirmation
Vaidyak closes the patient's sign-in, ends active sessions, disconnects connected devices and revokes active sharing. The account identity is removed from the active account. A separate cleanup process then removes patient-controlled content; it may take additional processing time, and a failed cleanup is handled as a support issue.
Data removed by patient-account deletion
- Patient profile identity and photo.
- Uploaded reports, patient-entered results and related personal summaries or guidance.
- Wearable imports, device connections, personal activity records and walking summaries.
- Insurance details, reminders, notifications and portable imports.
- Patient-created nutrition plans and food logs.
Some copies in controlled backups may remain until backup rotation or recovery processes remove them; they are not restored to a live account except where required for recovery or law.
Limited records that may remain
Provider-authored appointments, consultations, prescriptions and referrals, and necessary security, access and consent audit history may be retained for care continuity, safety, audit or applicable recordkeeping. These are held against a pseudonymous internal identifier after the patient's account identity is removed. Deletion does not erase a provider's own independently held medical records.
Other requests and provider accounts
For a request to remove particular data, correct a record, or close a provider or organisation account, contact the in-app Help desk or info@myvaidyak.com. Provider closure requires a reviewed handover because staff access and signed clinical records can be affected. We will explain any record we cannot remove and the reason after reviewing the request.
